This week I was able to fully implement saving and loading, as well as checkpoints and a respawn function.. With the save load feature, players will be able to either start a new game or load a game from the main menu. Starting a new game will create a new save file, and will be added to a list of game saves. If the user chooses to load a game, a list of all saves will come up and they will be able to pick one to load. When the player passes a checkpoint, their game will save, and next time they load their game or die, they will spawn at the checkpoint. I was able to play around with sequences to create a fade out and fade back in effect when the player dies. This week I also worked on transitioning between the main menu and the level with level streaming and blueprint interface calls, which I was learning about for the first time.
