This week I created a mini inventory system to allow the player to swap out their two equipped weapons for any of the other weapons that they find along their journey in the game. This involved revisiting the pause menu, and making it a tab based system that allows players to switch between inventory, options, and key bindings. The inventory tab displays the gadgets that the player has unlocked, their equipped weapons, and their whole collection of weapons. The player can click on an equipped weapon, and then on one in their inventory to swap it out.
I also looked into configuring graphics options in game, but was unable to produce any results due to some tricky unreal stuff which I will revisit later. I also looked into saving and loading, and have started reworking the game instance blueprint.
